About
I am a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of English at UIUC. I'm also pursuing a minor in Gender and Women's Studies and a certification in Critical and Interpretive Theory. I am currently studying for my comprehensive exams in the area of British literature, 1750-1850, ecology, and climate change. I am preparing to begin a dissertation that looks at the intersection of literature, meteorology, political economy, and climate change in the "long Romantic period," in which I explore how a changing climate both shapes, and is shaped by, the cultural, economic, and intellectual change associated with the Industrial Revolution.
